Perhaps you haven’t been able to score tickets. Or maybe you’re boycotting the Broadway show but still want to learn more about this Hamilton character everyone is talking about. Maybe you just prefer your history to be a little whiskey-soaked and slurred.
Whatever the case, on Tuesday you’ll be able to catch Lin-Manuel Miranda recount the biography of Alexander Hamilton as he gets increasingly sloshed while sitting on his parents’ couch. If only all history classes were this entertaining.
Miranda is a natural fit for Comedy Central’s “Drunk History,” which features actors portraying historical figures described by a drunk history buff. In this case, Miranda is that history buff. Alia Shawkat of “Arrested Development” fame plays Hamilton, while Aubrey Plaza of “Parks and Recreation” plays Aaron Burr. Dave Grohl and Tony Hale also make appearances in the episode.
